Max,

Good find ! I think the "super white" would look awesome ( not crazy about the orange instrument lights ).

Boggtown switched his to blue, but unfortunately he quit the forum.

He does have a picture on his youtube site, though :

The thing that kept me from doing this swap was the fact that I had no idea how to gauge the quality of the replacement lamps. If they're cheap, and one doesn't know that unless he's a lighting expert, they'll burn out prematurely and then the maintenance nightmare begins to find replacement lamps at a reasonable price and the time to take the cluster or AC controls back out and replace them.

Any seller can put "lifetime guarantee" or whatever on their product and not be found a year or two later when one goes out. Or, they send you a replacement for free and you have to spend all that time again to replace it.

Just some thoughts I've had I thought I'd pass along.

I do have blue lights on my new head unit and would love to swap mine out to all blue... but this unknown quality issue is keeping me from doing it.

I will hunt boggtown down on another forum and see what the mode of operation is.

The climate control bulbs require soldering, and I think that might exceed my expertise. Fortunetly, they do offer to do it there if you send the head unit in for 100 or so dollars. I wonder what downtime is.

I was going to do the total amber-to-blue LED mod to my car... but then found that Porsche switched the gauge cluster illumination from a bulb type that would be easy to replace, to all surface mount LEDs... probably at least 50 of them... on a flimsy PCB.. which would probably get screwed up if I messed with it.

Do you want the blue bulbs and LEDs? I have all that you should need. I'll make you a good deal!
