Door squeak

Hey all, got another squeak that's annoying the heck out of me. It's in the door rubber, towards the top near the handle. It's basically the rubber that's on the car body that makes contact with the door and seals it I guess.

It's the rubber right below the cheesy seatbelt pad (Not my car)

The rubber has worn and gotten shiny and slick, and I guess the door tends to squeak now as it vibrates against it on rough roads. I can remove the problem by sticking a towel in between and closing the door on it, not a very permanent (or sightly) solution tho.

Anyone know of any really good rubber conditioners, or maybe suggest something I can stick maybe on top of it to help eliminate the sound?

Dupont Krytox GPL 205 weatherstrip lubricant, pricey, but it works.

It sounds more to me, that the problem is that, the door not closing properly and is moving while you drive. The door shouldn't be moving at all. Check the latch on the body of the car, maybe it has come loose.

rick3000 - I was gonna suggest that too but assumed the archives might have already been searched...

Just in case, here's a thread about remedying door sqeaks (go to the bottom as the top is about a ticking noise over shoulder).
