steering column re-assembly
So cleaning up from my botched chrome gauge trim ring installation. Got the new gauges from an "S" model installed. Easy. Not so easy is getting the steering column cover assemby back together. If you remeber, I got super glue on the top cover. Ordered up a replacement cover (just the top piece). Came apart just fine. 4 screws and popped off. Getting it back together isn't so easy. I can't snap the piece back in tight enough for all the screw holes to line up. I am doing this with the steering wheel still on. Anyone been down this road? I am semi-mechainically inclined but this just isn't working for me. Any advise would be appreciated. -Tom

If it is this plate with 4 phillips screws then it will be a lot easier with the steering wheel off.

Yup. that's it. Trying not to have to remove the wheel.

Bad thing is I have to remove the wheel. Good thing is that gives me a reason to buy a alcantara wheel.
