Some lucky bad luck

I discovered my spare tire was flat the other week and I couldn't inflate it because my cheap eBay special compressor wouldn't go past 10 psi. I then completely forget that the spare was flat. Fast forward to tonight. I back out of my driveway and hear a thump-thump sound. What the... I pull back into the garage and find the right rear tire very flat.
Looks like a piece of metal in the tread. I'm hoping it can be plugged/patched to get me thru the wiinter. The tread depth is close to the wear bar and I had planned on deferring the cost until the spring.

Bad luck- flat tire.
More bad luck- spare tire is flat.
Good luck- you are in your garage.

Check your spare tire once in a while. Not all flat tires happen in your garage.

Regards,
derb

Hey Derb, I checked my spare....and I still DON'T HAVE ONE!!

I am sure someday the air compressor and fix-a-flat that Porsche gives us 987 owners will be completely usless the day I need it most!

Garage
I agree check the spare often. They should be inflated to 60psi (for the lucky 986 owners ) I checked mine recently before a trip it felt inflated but was only at 15psi.

We call 1-800-767-7243!!! Roadside assistance. Got it on speed dial in my cell phone. And I keep a protein bar in the car for the 6 hour wait!

Just before the Tail of the Dragon trip (2,000 miles total), I bought a pair of needle nose pliers that has a side cutter jaw and those sticky fibrous emergency tire plugs. I figured this would at least help me limp along to a safer/better location in an emergency.

Hey all - is it possible to order spare tires with new boxsters? I much prefer having a spare, even at the sacrifice of trunk space. If I stick with Pcars over time, I will be SOL after the 986.
