Bah! It is a Monday alright.

Took the headlight out to get to the bulb and when I was putting it back the lower left reflector's little plastic retainer clips snapped. Not a big deal as I can easily glue it permanently in but annoying none the less.

Well, at least now I know where not to touch on these things!

Where can I find clear ones like in your picture? I heard about doing this and was told that you could just replace the plastics and not have to do the entire fixture.
Thanks
Chris

The headlights you see on djomlas' car are not clear, he painted the yellow part with silver paint. It's a nice look (IMHO) and the cheapest route to go. I didn't have any success with it though. I tested two types of silver paint on a spare piece of clear plastic and both blocked light transmission too much, even with thin coats. I've got some smoked tint paint (black, not silver) that worked fine on my sample though, but I still need to do the actual headlights. Others have done well with the black tint paint too. Regular tint film will bubble over plastic.

No, you can't just replace the plastics... it's been tried unsuccessfully.

What kind of glue is that reliable on plastic?? I've about given up on gluing plastic pieces where you need a really strong, reliable bond. Is there something out there I should know about next time I create two pieces of plastic where there used to be one?

I've found epoxy to be quite strong in most situations.
