Fall Driving

I have really been enjoying the top down weather we've had this fall. Now that it is cool enough for a little heat I ran into a small problem. The heater has a setting for flow out of the bottom vents. I have always used this setting with every convertible I've owned as it keeps my legs warm. After a ride yesterday I was not getting the flow at the bottom like I should have, When I got home I looked under the dash and saw why. There is only one outlet at the bottom and it is on the passenger side.
I am assuming that for some unknown reason the Porsche engineers figured the driver could drive better when he was cold.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you solve it?

Thanks,

Tom
