Seats are good for long trips, at least for me. The only things against them are: price, seat recline (which I dont care about, its a 2 seater, lol), had to learn not to hit my elbow on the side while pulling the ebrake, and its very hard to look in the storage compartment above the engine while sitting.

Back to the main point so im not thread jacking... its your car/money, do whatever you want to it, AS LONG AS THE FORUM TAKES A VOTE AND AGREES.... lol.

ummmm...people click and view pictures of train wrecks a lot too......that doesn't mean they're any good
now bogg, I'm not saying your car isn't nice (aside for the inserts in the bumper, not really my thing) just saying there are a lot of reasons why people click

or the fact that even here it says in your signature to click for your renntech profile, maybe people just get curious.
i should update mine, and in my signature on all forums say "click here for free Porsche parts, just pay shipping" and i bet it would make it #1 quite fast.

The local owners have installed litronics with the control unit on 2 cars. One of the installs was filmed for the DVD set. The control unit only needs 3 wires to be hooked up in the front trunk.

The thing to watch out for is the year of the car when hooking up the control unit, because there are old instructions floating around. Porsche changed the front trunk wiring in 2002.

Thanks TP. I don't plan to do this anytime soon - waiting for the "deal of the century" . I have also been thinking about the H7 xenon install that a few folks have done and documented on renntech. It'd be great if one were to put the litronics and the H7 xenon installs side by side and compare the two.

Its looking like i will be stuck with my stock bumper, They estimated that i would have the car back on friday and i havent heard from them regarding weather not the bumper reconditioning shop was able to repair it. So i assume they were able to and its going back on my car.
Oh well, Since i know the bumper i like doesnt cost much, Ill replace it in the future on my own dime. For now, i cant wait to get it back, the shop said they were going to fix some imperfections the last paint shop left behind on my paintjob so thats awesome!

Oops, turns out the control box isnt for leveling, the Litronics have that built in, the control box is for use of High beams only, nothing else.

^correct, auto leveling is done at the Factory only. I didn't bother with the box when I upgraded to Lits because at the time I planned on putting back the clear halogens and selling the litronics seperately. But now I doubt I'll ever sell the Boxster! No matter what I get for the car I doubt I'll get something better for the same money. Not worth the sale.
p.s.
Too bad I sold the clear halogens for $550 a year ago. should have held onto those.

The Self Leveling is built into the headlights themselves isnt it??? if so, how can you tell if you got it?

no I don't think they are built into the headlights. I believe its some voodoo wiring that only German speaking guys named Heinz know how to do. In other words, the special wiring is in the car not the lights.

Btw, anyone else who is upgrading, you can adjust the height of the beam if they are not even by using one of those ball end hex wrenches, there's a hole for it on the side of the light. I adjusted my set while it was parked about 15 feet away of the garage door.

You are probably right about the sensors not being built into the headlight - and I say probably because I only have second-hand info. I had asked a local p-car shop (who are also used p-car dealers) about installing the litronics, and I was told that my choices were:
1) replacing the H7 bulb with a xenon-like bulb
2) replacing the entire assembly with a litronics kit
3) same as 2, but with the 4 (iirc) leveling sensors that go in various places in the car

They said they'd never done option #3.

This is why I was very curious about the install of the (what we thought at the time) auto-leveling unit. Thanks CJ and others for trying!
