photo of spinlocks for hardtop please

Can someone be kind enough to take a close-up photo of their spinlocks? This is the part mounted to the car where the hardtop goes into and locks. I thought I had the part but can't get it to fit properly.

Thanks in advance.

Eric

There is an indentation on the spinlock to allow the bolt to pass in order to get it tight. Indentation should be facing the rear of thecar. I had the same problem the first time I tried to put in mine. Make sure this is lined up and you tighten it real tight. There is an excellent install of this over with photos over at at renntech.org Make sure and use the baggie!

I just dropped mine in, and ended up ruining one of the bolts. It is probably the stupidest thing I have ever done.
Once you drop them in, twist them until they sit flush with the metal.

The ones currently on my car has only 1 indentation (facing rear). But locking at the bolt on the hardtop, it looks like there should be 2 (1 facing rear and 1 facing front) like the photo posted by Tool Pants. Anyone know why? Do I have the wrong spin locks?

Maybe you should post a pic of your spinlock. The recess is not visible in this picture but it is where the bolt is. The recess is there so the bolt can slide easily. If you reverse it you are not going to be able to tighten it properly and will probably end p stripping it out. (see above post)

Here's a photo of mine.

In comparison, it looks like mine isn't installed. (I'm 2nd owner so don't really know if it was ever installed)

Can anyone tell me if it's on there?

You do not have one installed. When you get them, they are marked L or R so that you should not have difficulty determining which goes to which side.

You don't have them, just an empty hole. Usually there is a plastic plug in the hole if you do not have them, but the plug likes to fly out.

This is what they look like before you put them in. You should read the renntech article.

If you look at your picture and the picture tool pants posted, you will notice the little indentation. That makes sure the spinlock is in properly and sitting flush.
