Heater/Air Blower Motor - gone bad

I have a 99 Boxster with 35,000 miles on it. Just last week, I had to crank the heat since it was cold with the top down. I heard this wicked clicking sound. It almost sounds like the blower had something stuck in it. I think I need a new blower motor. Did anyone have this problem before? Your advice would be appreciate it.

I have a 99 Boxster with the same amount of miles and this happened to me last month. The more I increased the fan speed, the louder the noise got.
I thought I was in for a $500 fan motor, but it turns out that there is insulation near the fan that falls down over time. I took it to my local repair shop and they fixed it for less than $100. If you are mechanically inclined (I am not), you could fix this yourself.

I hope you are as lucky as I was.

Thats too weird!!! I have a '99 and this happened to me 2 months ago with the a/c. Luckily I have the warranty still, but have yet to bring it to the dealer.
