Adapter for cigarette lighter

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for an adapter to run my Garmin in a '01 Boxster (small USB connector). The one I used in my Z4 simply pops out by itself. I know the boxster lighter is European format (the Z4 obviously not) and shorter. Does anybody have a source for fitting adapters (in Los Angeles)?

Thanks in advance for your help!

You can replace the entire cigarette lighter with the US version which is deeper for about $12 check out cb-racing.com.

When I installed my Garmin I chose a "cleaner" install:

I didn't want a cable to dangle from the cigarette lighter plug all the time, so I decided to conceal as much as possible.

So I got a plug for cigarette lighters at RadioShack and installed it inside (behind) the center console
I "stole" switched power from the radio and then routed the Garmin cable from inside the console to come out behind the instrument cluster.

in total about 4 hrs work time if you do it slow

I did the same. After doing the OBC hack I felt comfortable taking the insturment cluster off, so I ran my GPS cable down under the instrument cluster behind the center console. If you check my registry page in my sig. there are more details there.
