Hi Guys. Latest info was if a bulk order of 5-10 units could be placed then a 8-10% discount may be considered. From the feedback i got at the time it did not seem to be enough for most interested members to commit.

Even at $4500US I think there will be very limited demand for this top. It's primary use is for winter driving. At the current price you can drive a very nice used car in the winter for that price, particularly if you need to put winter tires on the Boxster which makes winter driving even more expensive. Unless you are limited to one car for other reasons it seems many people would just drive another car in the winter. If you're going to drive the Boxster in a northern climate in the winter and want a hard top it's also less than half the cost to put a Porsche top on. It just is a lot to pay it seems.

price comparison
If I can pick up a hard top for my 986 for 1200 to 1500 dollars, i would certainly purchase one of these tops for $3500....with out delay. But the current price of 5 grand is a little pricey, even though it looks nice.
I know that doesnt make sense. But in my mind that is what I would pay for this top.
Get a commitment for 20 at 3500, see if they bite

I think you guys have the market incorrect. This top is for people who want a 986 Cayman, not for people who want a winterized Boxster.
For $5000 and the price of a 986 (say $20,000-ish), you get a 986 Boxster Coupe. That's not a bad deal!
Sure, it'd be nice if it was cheaper, but I think they'll do just fine with their product at that price.
Now, the vents on the other hand... they should burn those in hell right now before they continue to embarrass themselves. Absolutely AWFUL.
And I don't know why everyone's so excited about the Zeinwing. It's just a copy of the Porsche 987 aerokit wing and/or the standard Cayman wing--not exactly innovative.

Like all new inventions for our cars, if one is patient, the price will drop like a rock.
I fully expect this top, if still available in two years, to sell for $1999.
Or, the company will stop making them or they'll be forced out of business for being complete idiots and pricing their product so far out of reach that no one was willing to buy it ... which is where I am today.
I'll trade my old boxster in on a pre-owned Cayman S before I slap a fairly permanent $6,000 cayman-look alike lid on the boxster. I'm headed in that direction anyway.

Hey Alexandra,
Can you comment on the differences between the new racing lite top and the original top? Also do you have any pictures of the new racing lite top on a car?
For those that haven't seen the new product here is the link:
