Active Brake Differential (ABD)

OK, another Forum Member's post got me thinking more about this.

The 2007 and 2008 Boxsters have this ABD? What is it? Is this like a Limited Slip Diff?

Does my 2006 have it?

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the 986 has ABD if you got TC or PSM. ABD is standard on 987, so your 06 has it.

It's like a cheap limited slip differential. It works ok. The negative is, by applying brakes to the slipping wheel therefore feeding power to the opposite wheel, it scrubs off some speed. If you're real serious about racing, you'll want a Quaife limited slip or clutch type. For street driving ABD works well enough.
