H&R Sway Bars - Any Good?

Hi, I'm looking at improving the handling of my S and was wondering if anyone has experience with H&R Sway Bars in the above link?

Driven my stock 986 S on the track a few times now and found I could use a bit less body-roll from the car.

The HR rear bar is standard fair for any heavily tracked Boxster... for the front though, go with the OEM Porsche GT3 Bar... you will need stronger droplinks. The stock ones will not last very long with the beefier sway bars.

Were you referring to just the rear droplinks? What sort of stronger droplinks do you recommend? and where can I buy from? Thanks

These sway bars... the HR and GT3 front have adjustability built in... for one you will need new droplinks so that you can adjust to the bar's various holes. Also the stock droplinks are very fragile and an upgraded sway bar will put more stress on the droplinks than the OEM links were made to handle... I and many other owners buy from Tarrett Engineering. TRG also sells some, as does acency power. I would recommend the Tarrett pieces. And yes I mean all four corners... F & R. The rear HR will cause some oversteer...

Do these sway bars affect the ride much? The roads I travel to work are not of the best conditions. Will I experience significant drop in ride quality?

I'd check out the Boxster Racing Board to see what kind of setup they usually run for track sessions. I believe the standard over there is the Porsche GT3 front bar and Tarrett rear bar, both with aftermarket adjustable end links of course. Insite here on 986forum has some very nice adjustable end links for like $150/pair. You might not want to get the Agency Power end links. Even though they're advertised to work on the Boxster what they have a photo of on their website would not work - wrong orientation. I'd call them first to verify proper fitment. There is one Boxster owner on the BRB who says he used them in the front (same as the 996), but again I'd be concerned about the rear application (not the same as the 996).

Looking at the rules for Boxster Spec racing though it looks like the preference on the Boxster Racing Board may be biased based on what bars they allow in rules for the spec racing series. Just a feeling on my part.

Again, looking at the Boxster Racing Board my recollection (and I may be off here) is that the H&R bars aren't much different from the USA M030 bars.

If it were me, I'd go with the GT3 front, Tarrett rear as that's a tested and proven combination in Boxster racing.

Here's what's approved in BSR (Boxster Spec Racing). I guess H&R is indeed on the list:

o Front: H&R 70779 OR Porsche GT3 part no. 996-343-701-90
o Rear: H&R 71779 OR Tarett Engineering 986 RSBA

The H&R front bar is not adjustable while the GT3 bar is.

I'd suggest doing some searches and research there on what their experiences are with anti-sway bars.
