The break down was something like 69 hours labor(at least), $3.5k in parts just for the body. The current and
known damage totaled $12k just from that.
Now the part that took them from repairing to totaling it was a
potential transmission and who knows what else replacement. After I started the car after the accident it was like short shift kit clunkyness times 5. It was really weird. Instead of wondering if it was o.k. and taking it all apart they assumed it was messed up the total damage was heading upwards of $22k+.
The pictures HID everything. The trunk buckled BAD,like it kinda bent upwards. The entire rear end of the car shift 1/2 inch to the right,it was bad.
