becker stereo help please

Hi

Had a new battery fitted to my box but this made the stereo reset itself now it requires the code to be entered.

I have the code which came with the car and i've entered it in to the stereo however it seems to want another number entered, i've had the code checked with the dealer and its correct, i dont understand what to do.

The code i have is four digits long, but the stereo seems to want 5 digits.

The model of the stereo is BE 4467

Am i just being a retard or is there something that i have to press after i 've entered the 4 digit code ??? I'm baffled.

Any constructive advice would be most appreciated.

Lets assume an earlier car and a Becker 220.

You had code **** displayed, entered the 4 digits, each of the *s extinguished as you entered each digit, the radio autoswitches on after entry of the 4th digit, no special key necessary after 4th digit entered.

Did you receive a WAIT message or a CODE **** message after entry of 4 digits?

WAIT disables entry for 60 minutes and is issued after 3 incorrect entries.
