Several issues that started all at once

The ignition switch is has become really difficult to get the key in, Sometimes the radio will stay on with the Key out, The Environmental control does not work sometimes with the car running. Now the radio will not control the volume past +8. Is this all linked to the Ignition? Please advise!!!!

Ignition switches cause all sorts of electrical issues in Porsches.

Don't try to buy the switch from Porsche, they will sell you the whole assembly when all you need is the ignition switch itself.

Good place to start. They are known to go bad. Do a search, and you can find advice and part numbers. You can even get the part from VW or Audi.

Based on what I have searched on the Threads, it does sound like an Ignition Switch, I would like to thank all of you for the directions.

Ignition switch... get the audi part, much cheaper, and do it immediately... it is a progressive problem and will get worse.

I just replaced mine last week. Its relatively easy, except for that upper screw!! Get a set of jewelers screwdrivers at Lowes or Home Depot, or cut off a small (really small) screwdriver and you'll be fine. It took about half an hour start to finish. My symptoms were not being able to remove the key, the alarm wouldn't work, remote wouldn't work most of the time, and a few other little issues. The Audi part was less than $40. I was afraid they wouldn't have it in stock, silly me! The parts guy said I was the second or third one that day looking for that part. He didn't even need to look it up in the computer :D
