Schnell shift linkage piece

I'm going a install the short shift kit and wondered if anyone had bought the Schnell aluminum shift linkage piece and whether this will make shifting smoother in my 102k boxster. I believe I have the original plastic shift linkage piece in it now.

I put in the Evo version while the original shift was in. Then put in the B&M short shift. I could feel no difference due to the shift link.

I also have the Evo shift linkage and B&M. Rather than change the quality of shifting, the linkage is marketed for reliability over the plastic part. Is it worth it? Beats me but I got it on sale.

I agree with timothy. Functionally, the part is no different than the OEM piece of plastic. Its adds nothing and takes nothing away from the feel. The old OEM piece I replaced looked like a dog had chewed on it. I think that it was only a matter of time before it failed. I bought it so I'd never be stranded with a broken linkage. Otherwise, I'd add a 15 and 20 torx to my onboard emergency kit just in case.
