Console painting

I have a question for anyone with a 986 factory painted center console.
At the rear of the console are the two removeable panels on each side
below the oddments tray cover painted or left unpainted? Thanks.

David

Wow, David, that was strange...

I was checking my email and you had posted the same question on the Yahoo Boxster group and I responded.

Anyway, no, they are not painted.

Welcome to the forum !

Nick

Edit :

Oops, my bad ! I just went outside and checked. The parts on the side of the oddments tray are indeed painted. I was thinking of the parts on the center console below the shifter.

Sorry

Thanks Nick! Just to be sure we are talking about the same area, these parts also are at the extreme rear of the console that snap on the sides, next to the seat backrests, correct? I have tried to see these pieces in all the dozens of painted consoles on the internet, but the seat backrest are hiding them in the photos. Thanks again. David

David,

I found this picture on bumperplugs.com

It looks like they do not paint this part, but I assure you on my car it is indeed painted ( factory option ).

Hey djomlas, when you painted your center console, did you also paint the pieces under the oddments tray ?

Also, is this your car ( from bumperplugs.com ) ?

Nick

btw, thats not a pic of boxster, on those cars the rear end of the console extends a little bit more since they do have back seats

Thanks!

I really appreciate everyone's input concerning this question. The console painting areas have been a "grey" (no pun intended) area for quite some time for me...Thanks again.

David
