3.6 liter Boxsters?
 

In a recent post:

"Now my boxster has a 3.6 997 engine ecu , headers, b&m short throw shifter, and full suspension."

This post got got me thinking how much of a difference there is between the 3.4L and 3.6L engines. On paper, the hp difference between the engines does not seem that great.

This post is comming from someone that has very little experience with any of the 3-liter Boxster engines, but I have done several test drives in both the 2006 3.2L and 2007 3.4L cars.

I would be interested how many folks in the fourm have done the 3.6L conversions, what their impressions are of the car, and how it compares to the previous (3.2L?) engine the car had, thanks in advance,

Well I have no experience in driving them in a Boxster, I have driven them in the 911. Both engines are quite a step up from my 2.5! the major boost being the noticeable low end torque. Between the two engines, the increase in torque from the 3.6 motor seemed to be huge. They are both very good motors, I can only imagine them in a boxster, but I would say, if you are doing a swap and you could afford the 3.6, you would be stupid not to. Eh, for that matter, just drop in a x51 3.8! :D

The difference in torque between the 3.4 and 3.6 is surprising. I am planning a 3.6 for my S at some point, or if I can find one for a reasonable price, I'd love a 3.8.

For the Boxsters, generally as far as I know, 2.5 guys swap for a 3.4, and 2.7 or 3.2 guys swap for the 3.6 as th e-gas/ non e-gas motors and harness line up that way.
