Interior Modifications Help

Hi guys,
I have a 2001 Boxster S and I was wondering if anyone knows the safe way to remove the dash plastic panel. I.E The plastic surround on the Climate control/CD player/ buttons(roof/ tc and dimister etc)
To make that clearer, its just the outer plastic not the guts of it.
I want to remove just this part so I can give it the Aluminium finish. I don't want to break anything so I was wondering if anyone has done it before to give me an idea.

If this isnt making sense let me know and il post a pic, highlighting the area I want removed

Thanks

check out this site

Go to Skyler's Boxster--> Installing the Porsche Communications Module (PCM) More good stuff from Lefteris.

There are pictures in the word docs that show the removal process.

Did you read the stuff on that guy's webite. He has some obvious mental issues.

Wow... talk about being outspoken. He must be that ugly american I have heard about....

I can't believe he is a moderator on another board.

Paps, I found it easiest to use a plain table knife(part of your standard knife/fork/spoon place setting.) You don't want to use a sharp knife.

It takes a lot more effort than I expected to pop off the plastic, but it does work. You are not likely to damage anything with a table knife, but a screwdriver, putty knife, pocket knife are likely to scratch things up.

I never bothered to visit the other sections of the site. Why what does he say? I thought he had some articles from other sites linked.

Maybe a "nom de plume" would help.

It read as if it were his expressions, even if someone thought that, you do not put it on the web and say look at me I am nitwit.

Some thoughts are better left to yourself.

I only bring this up because, I look at the oxy "moron" of him being a moderator.

Wow .....

I am glad I am not Muslim...

Alienz 08-16-2004 08:30 PM

Is he a muslim?

mrmickeymouse 08-16-2004 09:07 PM

Check his rants...I doubt he is Muslim...

Alienz 08-16-2004 09:25 PM

I used to be a muslim, not anymore. Religion is behind me now. Why are you glad you are not a muslim anyway?

Paps 08-17-2004 02:38 AM

Thanks so much for that site. Its bloody awsome. Im now thinking
of doing other installs cause the steps on this site seem easy to
follow.
Again..I appreciate that

AlienZ-

Did you read what he said on his site, it does not sound like he really likes muslims to much.

Read his words... not real friendly.

Kind of makes you feel like your in his site's if your muslim, and I don't mean "web site".

I really think Syler's website has a TON of useful 986 info.

His views on the current world situation might be harsh, but you know a lot of what he says about the muslim beliefs are true. He does use strong language sometimes, but as offensive as that may sound to you, it's still a LOT less offensive to me than what I've been subjected to during my childhood as a "christian foreigner", or "kafer" in Saudi Arabia.

mrmickeymouse 08-19-2004 02:29 PM

I agree but the oxy moron of the story is that he is a moderator, who routinely chastises people for saying what is on their mind.

I could careless of somebody’s views, to each his own.

I believe my point was missed. Back to more important business "Porsche".

Skyler is a Marine (ex) - they can go over the top sometimes.

In reality he also took his Boxster 'over the top' once by doing a front end flip over a mountain road guard rail. He has had more car troubles than 99.5% of the Boxster owners out there.

I kinda like the guy - and ignore his rants because i've known other marines. In many posts back and forth (over a year ago), he never picked on me for being a turban wearer. I sincerely don't think he has made it to the 'American Beauty' level of danger to civilians.

I don't visit PPBB anymore-but that's because I wanted to drive my car, not just talk about it. Skyler was only one of several PPBB 'deputies' last I heard.
