Open Recalls?
I had a nice chat with my local dealership today (Took me 3 tries to actually get them to check the system and call me back! Wonderful service)
I have the following open recalls on my car: (descriptions from memory) 305 - adjustment of the tiptronic key lock 209 - fuel filler cap 202 - electric release switch Should I have any concerns? Anybody know why these were flagged? Lastly, can anybody explain to me what the process for working with dealers on open recalls is? I assume there is no fees, but knowing this place they might try something funny on me. |

If they are technical service bulletins I think it is up to the manufacturer as to whether or not they will foot the bill. If the car is under warranty than these would be taken care of by them; however, a car out of warranty may cost you some $$$. Technical service bulletins are not mailed to you and dealers usually check for them when you bring your car in. I believe there are websites that have all the TSB's listed for free. |
