Rear Spoiler

This might be posted in the wrong forum but it is a part per say. I've seen photo of a Boxter that has a "Rear Spoiler" that looks like an "eye lid" that replace the flat OEM. Can someone post a photo of this spoiler and point me to the right direction to get one. I was going to get one similar to the one on the attached photo but I think it would make the Boxster look even shorter.

go to ebaymotors.com and put "boxster spoiler" in the search box.
I've been looking at the one that replaces the stock spoiler, and will still raise and lower like normal. It looks similar to the one that comes on the Cayman.

looks weird to have 2 spoilers.
if you go that route, get the trunk lid that replaces the rear raising spoiler and remove the actual spoiler

the cayman style spoiler for the boxster looks great but......is the cheapest piece of beep beeeeep beep.

once i got it and saw how it mounts i was very disapointed.the spoiler is fiberglass which didnt bother me.what bothered me was the mounting.the fiberglass spoiler mounts directly on two pushrods from the original spoiler which looks great, but after a couple of weeks i notices hairline cracks where it mounts because its fiberglass directly to the pushrods.

well the end story is after a day of driving mostly highway.i came home only to notice the spoiler must have blown off completely...to bad i liked the look...but unless there is a revised spoiler with some sort of metal mounts dont even think of puting it on.it could be dangerous to others.....

Articnorth, you just saved me some $$$, I was wondering about the "quality of this style but was about to try out the carbon fiber version. I think I'll leave it alone.

I've got that spoiler. The first one I had cracked within a week. I e-mailed the maker and returned it to him. He fixed it and sent it back with a note saying "Please don't overtighten the screws". I've had the repaired version on now for a couple of months/2000+ miles and it's doing OK.

I'm glad to hear feedback about this spoiler... I was just about to buy one. I think I'll stay with stock for now.

so wow, u have a spoiler that comes out and keeps the rear end planted, as tested by porsche, and then replace it by one that flys off when it comes out or cracks, sounds like a bad investment

Maybe, but it's sweet when some fool is tailgating you and the boomerang ejector spoiler deploys...POW!!!

Sounds like my search will continue for one. Thanks for the great input.

I believe Gemballa makes that same spoiler but, it's of better quality than the ebay one. It costs alot more than the ebay one but, like I said it's of better quality.
