Stereo and alarm issues!
Hi all,
I'm new to this site and the world of Boxster ownership so firstly hello! I've just replaced the standard stereo with a pioneer bluetooth, telephone/ipod unit. Since doing that the horn beeps once every time I set the alarm - Any idea what I have done!!? Any help appreciated Del |
You can leave it the way it is...and then you know your doors are locked & the alarm set.
Or you can put a piece of tape on the contact area that inter-phases with the alarm and radio. Right now you have a "closed" circuit. |
Del, read this old post, it may help you:

Thanks very much for the reply - thats got to be the problem - what an excellent forum.

Or you can disconnect the lead that's attached to the trim piece that makes the horn beep. It's a black wire behind the wiper knob that's just attached to the horseshoe. ;)
What pioneer unit did you get? I put in an AVIC-D3 a few months back. |
Chills - I got the DEH-P85BT - Got it really because of the in built iPod and Bluetooth phone connections more than anything else.

Cool, dude. Did you do the install yourself? Any issues with the BT? I've got the BT adapter for the AVIC. It works ok, but I can't get the address book to DL. I think its the phone, though. I'm thinking about getting an iPhone and seeing how that will work.

How does the BT sound with the top down? I have it my Avalanche and with the windows up and stereo off, the other end can't hear me once I'm over 55 MPH. I'm thinking about a Alpine for my Boxster and I was going to just skip the BT altogether and just use my Jawbone BT. |
