What do you think of my new top?

I installed the top over the weekend for my wife. We both dig the color combo! It took me a little over 10 hours to complete the job. I'm sure if I had to do it again I could do it in half the time. :)

i give you props for being so patient installing it...it looks good but not really a big fan

but I love the color of your car...thats so shiny :D

lets see more of this burgundy top. you managed to post a pic where you can see the least amount of it.

I like it,it's different.

Do you have any experience changing out convertible tops before or did you just go for it?

Looks great!!!!!!! :)

Well done on the install too

PS. Shame you didn't go glass

I like it, I bet that color would look pretty nice on a black car.

I like it, too. Of course I'm a little partial to Arena Red myself.
If your wife's Boxster has no rear Boxster badge then I think I might have seen her on the Dulles Greenway back in July. I was in the other badgeless Arena Red Boxster that past by and gave her the thumbs up. There can't be that many of us around here.

Regards,
mike

Nice work!

rick3000 09-05-2007 06:13 AM

It's amazing you were able to do it yourself!
I like the color combo, but why not go with glass?

unklekraker 09-05-2007 06:35 AM

gubu, after seeing the last 2 pictures...I'm speechless! you really did a great job installing it yourself

porsche986spyder 09-05-2007 06:42 AM

Looks great, but why did you not go for the glass window?

mts 09-05-2007 07:24 AM

Looks great! I love the unique color combo.

FrayAdjacent 09-05-2007 07:43 AM

Nice! What brand top is it? I'm near getting a replacement top for my car, and installing it myself.

Did you use the DIY on Mike Focke's page, or did your top come with good instructions?

BoxsterBob - CA 09-05-2007 07:48 AM

I saw a similar color scheme on a Miata the other day and wondered if it would look as good on a Boxster. Thanks for answering my question. Very unique and I like it!

Having an Ocean Blue / Metro Blue theme, I like the way you think!

pteam 09-05-2007 07:57 AM

That color combo looks awesome. It looks like a very upscale factory job and makes the car look very expensive. :)

tombea 09-05-2007 08:02 AM

I love it! It looks great on the car and wow, is that color beautiful or what. Nice job, you can be proud.

Thanks. I had a great reference I found online : Mike Focke's Porsche Page. He had a brilliant step by step tutorial. I studied this first before executing my endeavor.

Thanks! I wanted to go glass but couldn't find one with that color and model year. :)

Thank you! It's a Stayfast Canvas. I ordered from : http://www.convertibletopguys.com/

Besides the fact it took 3 weeks for delivery! I can't be happier with the results.
