Got my BEST 0-60 time!!!
 

Hey, i did another run today and got a awesome time of 0-60 5.93 I launched perfectly and shifted great, the 2.5 isnt that Slow :D

Only kidding, but that is really a hard to believe time in a stock 2.5.

While you have some exhaust mods, im interested at what settings you have your gtech at, ie suspension setting.

The rpm calbration is set correctly, and my weight is at 2950, Suspension is at what it came at. If you dont belive me want me to tack a pic of it?

There were several magazines that I saw the 2.5L 0-60 to be 6 flat. While BlkBoxster hasn't modded the heck out of his car,he has an exhaust and has been practicing laughing the car. He is also said it's his BEST not the most consistent time.

Im not debating you, lol. Im just saying that until you actually go to a drag strip and calibrate your suspension setting your times are not accurate. I never did that, and while its close, it may be off. All the other calibrations dont affect 0-60 and quarter miles, but your suspension does.

On the G-Tech Pro website it list the G-Tech pro having only a '+/- 0.2 second' margin of error. So either way isn't it as accurate as your gonna get without dropping thousands of dollars?

I'm not necessarily questioning you or your results and I also won't claim to be any sort of drag expert (I've only attempted 0 to 60 runs 4 or 5 times - not really my thing and my clutch loves me for it ;) ), here are a couple of my results (I've never even looked at the data close enough to consider how/where to improve):

Keep in mind that I have an 'S' and these runs were done with 2 people in the car (each weighing about 175 - 180) and 3/4 of a tank of gas. The weight was determined from a DOT approved scale and RPM calibration was also done.

That said, 5.9 is impressive. My website has MT magazine recording their best time as 6.0.

The one question I have is about your weight. I have the base weight of the 2.5L being 2822 lbs. You have your calibrated weight as 2950. Do you only weigh 128 lbs? Just curious. If not you may need to adjust that a bit - don't know how that will impact your times.

Ah, but was it put on a scale (with the driver in it)? All the fluids and options add up (ex. gas weighs ~6 lbs. per gallon). You really need to weigh the car for accurate results. Look at the weight of my car as an example. If we went by that table, my car should be over 250 lbs. lighter. While I wish that were the case, the fact is that it's not.

Does that 250lbs. account for you,the driver?

In the tables I posted above, you'll see that the weight of my car is 3465. That weight includes me, the passenger, and ~3/4 tank of gas. Without me, my car weighs 3,110 (includes ~3/4 tank of gas). With me, the car is 3,290.

If you look at the table you linked to, the curb weight for a 2000 Boxster S is 2855.

For accurate results, all weight must be accounted for.

Should I go to one of the local semi-truck weight in spots and slide the guy some $ if you know what I mean?

Most race tracks also have scales. In my case, I happen to have a friend that builds firetrucks and his company has a DOT scale that we used. If I didn't have that option I would've used the scales at the track.
