Shopping For An OEM Looking Cup Holder.

Want to get a cup holder for my 986. Need to be as "OEM" as possible. Not too fond of vent style holders as occational vibrations will still spill coffee everywhere.

Thanks for all suggestions.

Theres always the Factory cup holder that mounts on the very top din where the AC controls are usually mounted. This requires relocating the AC controls on the very bottom Din and mounting the new cup holders on the top din.

Holds 2 cups quite nicely, however alot of people have bad luck with it and they have horror stories of there drinks spilling onto the radio... However i do not since i make sure i use it for cups that are the correct size like a Standard Medium cup size.... Not the Jack in the Box version on Medium which is freaken huge.

there's one that the cup holder flips out from the center console. the only downside is you have to buy the center console cubby hole thing and the cup holder comes with it.

Someone posted the following link on another forum :

Not cheap ($25 + shipping), but appear more stable than stock, and since they sit low in the footwell area, chances of your electronics getting sprayed are much less.

If you want a black OEM cup holder set like in the auction let me know. I have one in perfect condition that is just sitting around. PM with an offer.

I would go with the Ultimate Cupholder. :D

I have two of the ultimate cupholders, and they are nice, but they aren't perfect. I ended up putting them both on the passenger side since they kind of get in the way.

I tend not to eat or drink in my car too much, but on long trips water is essential... I think they probably are the best solution, the vent clip-ons are just absolutely horrible.

Question - you say they aren't perfect purely due to the fact that they get in the way, or also because they tend to cause spillage (or worse) in any kind of spirited driving? I wouldn't want a bottle of water down by my clutch and brake pedals! I am thinking of pulling the trigger pending your response. Thanks!

IMNSHO, the driver's side one only get in the way when you put too tall of a bottle in it - i.e. 20oz water bottle or the like (soda, etc.). Otherwise they are great - no spillage, etc. Mostly though, when driving by myself, I just put my drink in the passenger side holder. They're usually back a little further - just right up to the seat.
