Hey, you can't read everything :D If he is going to make that top, I would follow the lead that Zeintec set for the quarter window. Zeintec made it look integrated with the existing side windows. That triangle port hole just ruins it for me.

I could live with it the way they have it. Actually I like it better that way. Guess it's all a matter of opinion. I just think it starts with a more solid look like the O.E.M. hard top. Looks like another pillar that way.

I like the Zientop, it's just way to expensive. That 2 tone job looks silly. It looks realy nice when its solid. But not worth removing the rear trunk just to give you the "Cayman" look.

I agree with you 986! Would have loved to have one. That Black S looks awesome!

I agree with, "if you want a Cayman, buy a Cayman", in fact, I have no need for a hardtop... that's why I bought a ragtop. :) Mine is a daily driver, 70/30 top down.

As far as the two tone, I believe that pic is designed to delineate the top / car for marketing purposes. Also, apparently, you don't lose the trunk, it replaces the existing deck lid with hatch back access to the trunk. That said, the swap appears to be a rather more involved than; lower top > set hard top on > tighten spin locks.

I knew that. I just meant that you have to remove the stock trunk deck lid. With the other aftermarket hardtops, you don't have to do that because the top does not go back as far as the Zientop.

More pictures

Back to the original post.

Here are a few more "After the paintjob" pictures, which I took yesterday at Laguna Seca

boggtown 09-08-2007 02:09 PM

is that the exhaust?

ChrisZang 09-08-2007 07:06 PM

Well, there was a 90 db sound limit at the track yesterday and the sound check station is on the right side of the track.
So the guys who ran the CHP-Boxster had to be "creative" to not get blackflagged due to too loud exhaust noise...

boggtown 09-08-2007 07:54 PM

I love it, genius!

Is it me, or do the turbo side vents on the CHP car and the one that was being worked on... do they look like they were moved higher, (if that is the same car)? They look level with the door handles in the 'in shop' picture, and higher than the handles on the finished car.

boggtown 09-09-2007 02:17 PM

I think the door handles look painted on honestly. I cant tell from the pictures, but they sure look fake.

Why race a boxster with a hardtop? otherwise just spend some more $$ for cayman or 911.

Boxster should be race topless just like the good old days.....are we wimps?

Hard tops are mandantory in BSR class racing. As you can tell from my screen name I agree with you. They even make me put the soft top up on solo/DE track days now. :(
