Passenger Side Air Bag Again
I am going to purchase a 2002 Boxster S. When I took a test drive the passenger side air bad was deactivated and there was no baby seat involved. I asked the owner hoe he did that and he said the Porsche dealer did something that deactivated it for him but he didn't knowwhjat they did.
I did a search and think I'm more confused. Most posts indicated that the seat was required. There was one post that had a web site that showed a passenger side deactivation switch on a 2002 Boxster. Can anyone tell me what the proper procedure is for the 2002? Thanks, Tom |
The deactivation setup is like an additional seatbelt centered under the passenger seat. The deactivation buckle (male piece) originally would have come with a child seat but the buckle can be cut off the child seat and plugged into the deactivation bar/female recepacle without the seat present. On the car you drove, either somebody rigged something non-standard, or the bar/buckle were present under the passenger seat and you didn't notice.

Thanks, I went back and looked and there is a latch of some type in the slot.
