Since I just did this - a few notes to add.

Pull carpet away after unscrewing the carpet connector

There's a rubber plug (about the size of a quarter) that hides the hole where you insert the socket.

The socket moves clockwise 180 degrees to push the light out - it needs to go back 90 degrees to release the light assembly. If you are using the headlight removal tool - the handle should face the back of the car at the start of the procedure, the front of the car to push the assembly out and straight down to release the headlight.
