-Get a small flathead or your fingernails around thelower section of the shift knob 'skirt' and gently pry it up.

-My 99' has a small allen wrench gizmo that adjusted the height of the shift knob and also kept the shift knob in place. After that is loosened pull up and it should be loose.

-Installation is reverse.

Mushroom shifters dont have allen bolts, they are snug fitting and are slipped on with out any mounting hardware, To remove a stubborn knob, open the convertible top and place one foot on the passenger side and one foot on the drivers side and pull up on the knob. It'll slip off.

Really, its that easy, no bolts to un do,? SO i just pull it off, and slip the new one on

Well unsnap the leather boot from the center console then pull the knob. The new one will install in reverse order but depending on the one you get, u might have to tighten a Allen bolt to secure the new knob.
