Will these wheels fit?
 

I have a 2001 Boxster S. I need a 2nd set of wheels for winter tires. This guy in another state will sell me wheels that he says are off his 1999 Boxster, and these wheels have nice winter tires on them.

The trouble is that the part numbers are different, even though the tire sizes and offsets are the same as what I have.

For example, the P/N for his rear wheel is #996 362 126 05
The P/N for my rear wheel is #986 362 126 05

I'd hate to buy them and pay for shipping only to find they don't fit my car. Anybody know if his wheels will fit on my car?

part number is not going to be the same as your wheels are from a 986 S, and his as you say are from a standard '99 986... the part number on his wheel is for the 17x8.5 carrera wheel that came on both the 996 and 986. It's offset was 50 in the rear... So simple answer for you is yes it will fit.
