Its possible that with your car being as old as it is, that it could have some paint fading which obviously did not affect the paint under the old badge.

Your paint certainly looks clean and polished, so you may be stuck with it.

I think that actually looks pretty good.

zackwatt 07-21-2007 08:28 AM

Yes it does look good, have you tried to buff it at all?

djomlas 07-21-2007 08:32 AM

buff or not its different color altogether because the rest of the car faded and under there there was no sun hitting it for 10 yrs lol.

i actually do like it too, only if the whole B was there, the end part of the B must have broken off as soon as he got it and that part did see sun and that doesn't look all that good, but its not that bad, because when i did gt the car it took me a whole week to notice that the part was missing.

Well i went for it and took off the badge I seem to have a bit of a ghost, this car has always been kept inside so paint fading should not be an issue but i need advice on what to use to buff out the ghost with,i tried turtle wax can i do something else, im clueless on the subject.

De-Badged "Rockster"

About 2 months ago, I was drying my car and it magically transformed from a "Boxster" into a "Roxster." Tonight, after a Monster, I decided to grab some floss, headed to the garage and de-badged the Roxster. I'm now a fan of the clean, under-stated look.

I debadged mine a couple of months ago only because pieces of the "B" were broken off and I didn't feel like replacing the Boxster emblem. It's easier to polish the trunk now without having to work around the badge. But lately I have been thinking about putting it back. The back looks bare somehow without it. A little too bland.

Hmmmm

I like the bald look - matches me!

Once you've flossed the badge off, did you need to use anything to get the rest of the sticky bit off?

I am needing to find the time to go through this process too as I accidentally turned my car into a "Poxster" a few weeks ago whenI broke off part of the badge during a wax job.

Although I think Mercs and BMW look good sans badging,
Ferraris and Porsches look funny to me without their front and rear badges.

bald is beautiful!
