Up Date-Engine Quit

The wife's 02 boxster just quit, she was going about 10 mph when engine started running rough for a few seconds then died.

I tryed to start it, but the starter dosent sound like it's engaging. Had it towed to local Repair shop they checked it out and found no compression in any cylinders.

No oil anywhere so may I cross off IMS failure ?

Its at the Porsche dealer waiting for the ins. co to authorize removing engine to find out whats wrong, only has 22,800 miles on it.

Anybody have a similar problem, any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Up Date to above, IMS bearing went, jumped timing, bent valves, damage to pistons, Bad enough to scrap engine, new new engine ordered and will take about 2 weeks.

Thank God for extended warranty, which expires this Dec., talk about dodging the bullet.

With only 22,800 miles on it, wouldn't it still be covered by the original factory warranty of up to 36,000k?

'02 would have 4yr/50k, the 4 yr part would be the problem. Extended warranty sure paid for itself this time!
