Boxster owners men vs women

I am constantly told that there are more women that buy and own boxsters by my friends but dont know any. I really tired of hearing it where can i get stats on who buys them and who owns them.

There's a pretty large population of Boxsters in the areas where I work and live. I'd say it is pretty well split down the line when I look at the driver.

And... who cares? No offense to my fellow gents... but I can tell you who I'd rather be looking at in the driver's seat when I pull up next to another car at a light :D

where are these women with Porsches? please send them this way...

If the boards are any indication of the ratio, I'd say 9 out of 10 owners are male. In my informal, man-on-the-street observations, I would have to say it's closer to 7 out of 10 male owners, at least in my neck of the woods.

You'd probably have to talk to a few dealers to get a more scientific answer.

Seeing how you phrased that sentence, perhaps you should ask your friends. They might know.

LOL ok ya got me hehe i have no problem with the ladies i guess what i meant was a couple of my friends seem to think that the 986 is the "chick" porsche and that most of the people who own it are women.

Of the seven I know of in this area, there's only one driven by a female. Oh, and she waves when we pass each other.

p.s.
last weekend I was out with a group of girls I just met and we ended up an eatery. Some of their male friends arrived and although they drove BMWs, Mercs, and Range Rovers the girls seem unfazed by these cars and would not shut up about my Pcar. The other guys just sat their quietly resenting me.
One girl said "I saw a whale, ran with the bulls (or some nonsense like this) and now I have to drive your car! a Porsche!!". Another girl became VISIBLY excited when she approached my car and was like "ooohhh my god, this is your CAR!!!???"
The other girl who introduced me to them all in the first place was getting jealous.

I was having coffee with a girl friend of mine and we were both admiring my car when a guy came driving up in a new Z4, she made the point of saying "now that is a nice car". I made her a bet that if you asked 10 guys in the coffee shop which car they wanted to drive, 9 would choose the Porsche..just because. Her being the outgoing (and extremely hot) girl she asked about 5 guys, and all 5 of course said the porsche...they know..

lol I cant belive she said that about a Z4 compared to the box. I bought a Z3 for my mom for mothers day about 5 years ago, we still have it. I drive it a few times a year and its nothing compared to even a base boxster, its smaller, and it only has 1 trunk about the exact size of the boxsters rear trunk. A boxster is better in every way imagineable.

Also I have to say I don't know any women boxster owners. Although my girlfriend drives it alot nowadays, and I know there are several other guys on here that let their wife/GF drive their boxster alot. So although the owner is a guy, it may be a girl you see on that specific day driving it.

And if anybody off the street tells you that its a girl's car, slap them around a bit, then ask them what kind of Porsche they have?

SC986 07-11-2007 03:31 PM

I'll give the same response I gave my friend asking the same question about the Mini Cooperthat he wants....WHO CARES! I bought what I want, so should he.

Absolutely

xxxalexxxx 07-11-2007 05:38 PM

who cares, people r ignorant, cars are cars unless ur driving a bright pink boxster with some flowers glued to it, its not a girls car ( i dont think theres such a thing as a girls or guys car). My gf drives a viper and i drive the box and some of our friends always mess with me cuz i drive the "girly" car and say we should switch...so i point out what they drive and they shut up about it haha people who wanna mess with u, are jelaous or know nothing about cars will say stuff like that so dont even think about it.
when people say that to me in full seriousness i take it as ignorance on their part

djomlas 07-11-2007 06:46 PM

i actually dont see many women driving them at all....so far ive seen only a half dozen, compared to the guys....

timothy 07-12-2007 01:30 AM

There is actually a very simple girls car test. Does it look like this? If not you have nothing to worry about!
