Don't suppose the Boxster design engineers

put different sized wheels on the car from the factory for a reason? Maybe handling, clearance, etc.

I believe they will but, I'm not sure why you'd want to.

Well, they could have their info wrong, because the Cayman has a stagard fitment also. On the bright side, you could rotate the tires front to back with that setup, which would make them(tire treds) last longer. So if they really are 18x8 all the way around, you could just ad some wheel spacers to the rear to give back the cars clearance and turning radious. It has the wider stance in the back for a reason. Better tracktion and handling.

Cayman / 987 wheels have the wrong offsets for a 986. Got to make sure you have the proper offset or you'll make an expensive mistake. The factory wheel size and offsets for 18" 986 wheels are:

Front 18x7.5 50mm
Rear 18x9 52mm

If you go 18x10 rear, the offset should be 47mm.

987 factory numbers:

Front 18x8 57mm
Rear 18x9 43mm

You could use a 7mm spacer on the front, but the 987 rears just won't work.
