Yet another spacer question

On my 2002 Boxster, I am going from stock 16" wheels to stock 17", and the rear width of the rims is 9" with a 55 offset. Some sites say I need 5 mm spacers, others do not, so I am confused after quite a bit of searching. Any advice would be appreciated.

Since they are 9" they are the stock 17's from the 996 I assume. A spacer wouldn't hurt... not for sure if they will fit or not... even if they did they would look really sunken in... probably should go with a 10 or 15mm spacer.
