Out with the old, in with the older

Well, I actually got rid of the Boxster. As of last night, the Boxster and my 86 911 that I just bought a couple months ago were traded in on a 96 993TT. What can I say, I wanted more power. The Boxster had been a great car for the past 15 months that I have owned it. Someone will be getting a great car with some good mods. I did pull the GT3 seats out and took the wheels off too. Josh (JP-s-in st. louis) helped me get the car back together the other night. Made things go much faster.

Anyway, here's a picture of the new ride.

The 96 has about 57k miles. Not crazy at all. This is way more car than the other 2 combined. Exactly what I was looking for. Neither of the other cars or this one are my daily driver. This is my weekend, fun time, autocross car.

I'm sure I will miss the convertible, but my wife and I were thinking that maybe next year we might add a 997S Cab. That would solve the convertible issue.

He didnt made a mistake...A mint condition 993TT is a hard find, a true collector. Any mint 911/993 twin turbos are bound to hold their values. The 993s are the last air cooled Porsches plus the TT factor.
Congrats!

hmm... '86 911 = approx 200hp... '01 986S = approx 250hp comes to 450hp.

One 993TT = approx 400hp.

Seems like a downgrade overall - better chip that TT to even it out

Nice find on the 993 TT. Enjoy!

Love it... the only downside for me is the interior.... It seems dated compared even to the Box. Very desirable car though. I think the only other one that holds the value more is the C4S of that year!

Best of luck with it!

While you are on vacation I can always watch it for you. Hell i will put the lift in just for the 993. I would even kick the Box out in seatle rain just so that can be in the garage. Yea I like 993TT'S that much.

You can't go wrong with such a cherry 993, as they are holding their value VERY well. A TT at that adds to it! I hope the interior is as nice as the exterior. If it is, that's one hella fine car.

I have to admit, if I could trade my Boxster in on, and afford, a nice 993, I'd be SERIOUSLY tempted!
