we got a new06 V6 to replace our 2002 X5 at the beginning of april.

So far it is a great SUV. Handles better than the X5 did and that is saying alot. The V6 has good power, definitely enough for us (but we wont tow anything larger than a bike rack either). The gas mileage has been about 15 mpg in city driving.

The overall fit and finish are excellent. It drives very nice. The "chicktronic" tranny shifts very smoothly, and using the gear changing buttons on the steering wheel are fun to use, and way easier than shifting the stick (which was the only way to shift on the X5).

Overall, we are very pleased and would have bought it again. You can get smoking deals on the leftover 06's as well. I got 11k off MSRP.

Just did the breakin oil change, and that was a real pain in the ass tho. Take off about 30 screws for the underpan panels, and then the filter housing is upside down right over the steering rack and control arms. SO when you screw off the cap, a good half quart of oil gushes out over the rack, control arms, and your driveway.

Nice. I should have seen that coming. After an hour to go to Home Depot, buy concrete degreaser, then scrub the driveway, it was all good......

if you test drive one, you will buy one.....

Weve got one. Best SUV out there. The S will really make you happy.

Get the Cayenne Turbo S. Just keep your eye on the speedo, not the fuel gauge!

I rode in a base-model Cayenne. Totally stripped out: base engine, not a lot of options, and was impressed. The ride quality was very nice.
