If they weren't responsible for the problem, then your position might hold some validity --- it was a design flaw, well-documented and recorded. Should have been a complimentary factory repair for all affected engines --- Make up their capex with repeat business from the Porsche loyalists they would generate from their accountability as a company.

Surely if somebody did something it wouldnt just affect Porsches in America but also all porsches world wide?

If they offer up something for one then has too be for all!

I think it would be great but how on earth could you transpose the idea from paper to the real thing, and also fund it?

RE. RMS, it affects 986's to early 2005 987's - 2006 to 2008 have a modified RMS which should solve the problem. More info here:
