What time do you think you will be rolling into Galena? I will probably meet you there for a bit... |
If we leave at 9:00 am that should put us in Galena around noon, eat / relax and head out about 1:30 pm...

Hi Guys,
I just got back from the track, had a great time! Here's the deal. No helmets needed, just drive up to the booth at the entrance of the track and sign a PCA waiver and a track waiver. You will then be given an wrist band. Then proceed towards the track to the stop sign. The track worker will allow you to cross the track when it is safe. Proceed across the track and follow the road to the false grid. Enter the false grid when the PA announcer calls for the touring cars. A worker will walk down the line of cars to collect donations for JDRF. Checks are welcome, no receipts will be sent. There will be a lot of good racing going on so enjoy the day! I probably will not be there since I was away from home all week (not planned). |
BTW the track was clean and in good shape, the pace car allowed us to drive faster than most of us would take similar corners on our favorite back roads.

Hey Nick, had a great time yesterday! The roads were awesome and I loved seeing the Boxsters and the Viper run them. Thanks for setting this up.
I won't be able to make BHF today. I have wedding stuff to take care of. Bill, Pat, Greg, Nick, and wives it was great meeting you. See ya guys next time. |
What a great weekend !
My buddy Greg and his girlfriend ( in the Viper ), my wife, Bmus and his wife, Chills, and Sammy all met up Saturday morning and took a nice ride out to Galena, IL. A beautiful day, some great roads, good food, and great conversation ( IowaS met us in Galena as well ) : http://www.photoshow.com/watch/Gq6WT2NR A special thanks to Paul ! Sammy, Bmus, and I met up at Blackhawk Farms in WI to watch the Milwaukee PCA race and at lunch they let us take our cars on the track. What a blast ! 20 laps at a real good pace ( much faster than I expected ! ) That was the most fun I ever had with my clothed on :D Hope everyone had a great weekend as well… Nick |
Great pictures! Glad you guys had a good time, thanks for participating.

My favorite car from today was the older black 911 with the whale tale in the last photo of the show. Great job with the photo show and make sure you thank the Mrs. for taking a good part of the photos and for patiently sitting there while we drool over all the cars and the racing. The "parade" was a lot faster than I thought it was going to be. I had no idea that they were going to let us take the turns so fast. :) It gets an 32.5 on a scale of 1 to 10. Thanks Paul for the idea and the links (sorry we couldn't meet you there today)! The Galena trip was great as well other than the parking. We couldn't have asked for better weather. I'm babbling... I'll shut up now... ok... not yet... Bmusatti, I'll be dreaming about road K and hopefully we can hit it in a couple weeks (I'm out next weekend as the last autocross of the year is on Saturday). |
Great weekend! About 550 miles of great driving.
Thanks NickCats for setting up yesterday's drive and for the awesome slide show. I enjoyed meeting new Forum members (IowaS and Chills) and seeing NickCats, Mrs. NickCats and Sammy again- my fellow Dragon survivors! I plan on driving every Saturday, for the next 3 weeks, out on Country Road K. Round trip is about 320 miles. Late October the car goes to "sleep" until March/April 2008. We are all so fortunate to have great friends from this forum, and wonderful cars. Paul, thanks for telling us about the Blackhawk Farms event today. We had a great time. I will say a prayer for your family. |
Hi, I can't view the slide show do I need to sign up first?
Help :) Anyone Thanks |
Nice meeting you guys Saturday. You have really got me looking hard for a car now.
