3rd brake light polarity

Hello,

I have bought an after market 3rd brake light.

Its not working, the instructions said something about removing a pin to reverse the polarity. I have no clue what they are talking about. Does anyone have pictures or clearer instructions on doing this.

I searched the archives and could not find anything.

Thanks for all of your help.

Hmm, I don't know about this "pin" they speak of, unless they're referring to swapping the pins in the connector.

There are only 2 wires that run to the 3rd brake light. All you have to do is cut the wires and switch them. It's quite simple.

OR

If you can find how the pins insert into the plastic connector, you can usually pop them out with a small screwdriver. Stick them in the way you need them, and you're done. No cutting needed.

My aftermarket did not work either until I cut the wires and switched them. They work fine now. Not difficult, but an inconvenience nonetheless.
