Window tint

I'm thinking about having my windows tinted and I'm not quite sure whether or not to have the rear window tinted. It seems to me that just tinting the side windows won't afford much protection from the sun or heat. I understand from my service advisor that tinting the rear window (glass) might be "looking for a problem". Also - what about tinting the wind screen?

"Looking for a problem" <-what's that? Anything more specific as to what that could include? Strikes me as an odd thing to say. Your window is glass, so your ok there. You have a defroster, so to most cars with glass rear windows. I'm not sure what the concern is all about.

Tinting the side windows gives a decent amount of protection from my opinion, but without having the rear tinted, it looks odd. You're in FL, get the back window done!

There is the argument that having the top down with tinted windows is a bit of a paradox, but then again -it's your call.

I've thought of tinting my windscreen but was informed by my tinter that it doesn't stick to plastic all that well.

I tried to tint the windscreen and it wont stick for very long, what i ended up doing was buying black spray paint that is used to tint the windows of model card. Its made to tint lexan. It was easy to apply and after 3 years I have not had a problem with it.

i am considering buying the upgraded version of the 986 top with the glass window, then tinting it. but my tinter told me that it may scratch easy while folded and down against the fabric. does anyone have any experience with this?
