shifting

I noticed the other day that when I shift and the car is in gear, there is a lot of play in the stick. I was thinking of my 944 Turbo and don't remember it being anything like that, it was real tight.

can this be fixed with a short shifter kit or just the upgraded linkage?

Mine also, I have 110k miles on my linkage, how many miles do you have on the car?

I have side to side play on my linkage. I usually have to pull the shifter really hard to the left while engaging 2nd gear so not to cause it to grind.

I have under 25k miles on mine. it's just a sloppy felling in the stick. when i let off the gas and put my hand on the stick then hit the gas again, I feel the stick move.

Ahhh that sounds like engine or tranny mounts taking a dive. I know you can fill your engine mount with urethane to cure the engine mount issue but unsure of how to handle tranny mount whoa's...
