Another dumb question

I've seen the term "E-gas" used a fair bit.

What does it mean?

E-gas=Porsche's replacement for throttle cables starting in 00' on the 986.

and in Lamens terms, E-gas is when the Throttle cable from the pedal to the throttle body was replaced by an electronic syrvo type device that opens the throttle plate as you press the pedal down. No more throttle cable.
