A reliable bag of bolts that I drove into the ground,
followed by a better looking bag of bolts that didn't last its lifetime,
followed by another bag of bolts that nickel and dimed me to death,
then my grandmother's unatrractive, hardly driven car which was reliable and inexpensive to maintain - that was stolen,
sprinkle in some motorcycles
some new model reliable cars
and then the sporty little convertible that I had wanted all along.

1972 VW Van - 0 - 60 in 20.1 seconds! (or it seemed like it)
1971 VW Bug - 1641cc dual Webers, other mods (learned to work on cars with this one)
1974 Porsche 914 (continued my education on this one)
1973 Porsche 911t (PhD here as I completely rebuilt this engine and more)
1971 BMW 2002 (swore off German cars after this one)
Two Toyota trucks - '86 2WD and '96 4WD, the latter of which I still own (bullet proof)
1987 VW Jetta GLI - pretty good car up until ~100K miles (swore off German cars again)
2007 Toyota 4Runner - first new car ever...
2004 Boxster S - My almost daily driver, as I can hardly get myself to drive to work any other way (now I am back to loving German cars)
Ones that got away (I could kick myself now)
1974 (I think) Ferrari 246 GT - was for sale at $20K in 1984
1957 Porsche 356A Speedster - $17K in 1985

Too many to list here but the notables are:
6 Vipers
2 Vettes
SLK350
Saab 9-3 Aero
3 '66 Chargers
'67 Charger
'87 930
SVT Focus
5 Harleys
All had varying degrees of mods. And lots of others - trucks, bikes, SUVs, etc. I figure you only live once so try as many as you can...wife feels the same way. Not sure what I'll get after I get tired of the new 987S though.

Dang, 05 and Thumper, do you get a new car every year, or are you, like, 80 years old? That's a LOT of cars.

I am creeping up there in years (I graduated high school in 1976). I used to have no will power when it came to a "deal" on a vehicle. I owned quite a few of them at the same time. Common sense and an irritated wife necessitated in liquidating the fleet.
I'm still selling off stuff (I had to say that as the wife's looking over my shoulder)
