Spoiler Wont go Down???
 

Hi,

I have an issue at the moment!!! Rear spoiler on my base 2002 will not retract.

It has been doing funny things over the last 6 months. Normally it has been going up automatically when the car starts forward motion (at any speed) and then lowers when I come to a stop which I know is unusual but didnt realy bother me.

3 days ago I stalled the car whilst parking and the spoiler has stayed in the up position since.

The manual switch doesnt seem to work anymore either.

Any thoughts or ideas what to check???

I believe that you're supposed to see a doctor in the event of a spoiler staying up for more than 4 hours :)


I honestly don't know the answer to your question, but I have heard people talking about the spoiler relay. Maybe check the FSM/tech manual and see if you can find it? Relays are pretty easy to check.

Hi,

As mentioned most likely a relay. The Spoiler has 2 of them. Relay #3 is the Extend relay and #9 is the Retract relay. Switch them and see if the problem is reversed, this will confirm it. Hope this helps...
