Helpful Oil Filter Wrench Info

I found a perfectly fitted oil filter wrench at my local auto part supplier. It is the "Ritefit" model A251. 76mm X 14 Flute. I paid $3.59 and it includes a lifetime warranty. It worked perfectly and the 3/8" drive allowed me to torque the filter correctly. The website is stated as www.ctatools.com

Hope this saves you some hard-earned $$

Is it a dual step 74 - 76mm filter wrench? Because the service manual specifies a 74mm wrench for the oil filter for model years 1997 - 2004. I would think a 76mm would be a little loose and could eventually chewup the stupid plastic filter housing.

It appears dual; the bottom, open area is slightly larger in diameter from the inside, top area. I had absolutely zero slipping or marking of the plastic casing.

Regards

It is a 74mm wrench. I think I paid three bucks at Autozone for mine. It's a common size.

Makes me feel a little put out for paying $29 for my Porsche filter wrench... but oh well, it works, so I'm not going to complain too much!

Yeah, I think it's like 74 or 76 mm cap. I paid like $4 at local Advance Auto store. I didn't even try dealership cause I didn't realize they even sell such tools. A strap wrench will also work but you won't be able to torque it.

Yes. That's it. That's the dual step filter wrench. I also have that one.
