Horn not making any sound...

Hi' Forum...

Just a small question ebfore I call my mechanic.

I just got my boxster 98' and the only mistake I have found out was that the Horn is not working. Or at least I dont think it does. No sound comes when I press the 'button' ?

How does it work - will it recharge when I drive it or should I exchange the steering wheel or some other horn-relevant component ?

Thanks in advance for any advice

Kind regards
Morten

If you "honk" your horn...and no one is really there to "hear" it...does it really make a sound?

I just had the same problem last week on my recently purchased boxster also. The horn was honking on turns and bumps. I checked the forums and saw that this is a common problem, but before I could get it to the dealership in time the horn blew out. The same thing may have happened to your horn. Porsche gave me an estimate of something like 600 bucks because they would have to take the bumper off. I declined and will probably find a cheaper place to do it.
