duck poop damage - HELP!!!!!!!!!
So I parked my car at work today - was there for about 6 hours, came out and it was coated - top, sides, hood with duck SH$%!T!!!!!!! I had to do a double take and actually considered had I been at work for 3 weeks rather than 6 hours. At any rate, I came home, washed my car twice and unfortunately, have all kinds of residue, damage, whatever you want to call it that won't come out!!!! I tried polish, scratch and swirl remover - what can I do? Will this buff out if I take it to the local detail shop??????
This sux!

MN Boxter - thanks - funny you post that - I found that in my desperate search as well.
well - I've tried multiple applications of maguire's X scratch and swirl remover - not even budging the crap!!! man, we should fight wars with this stuff - just load up an m-16 with a clip full of duck pooh - blow into the caves in afghanistan - i'm sure we'd find bin laden pretty quick then!!!
hope the detailer can fix it! on the other hand, i was thinking about an m3 hood or a carbon fiber hood.....hmmmmm
anyone else with solutions or previous experience with duck shat! please chime in

Here's a suggestion...
You'll have to be pretty aggressive to level out the damage. I would try a 3M rubbing compound that's safe for clearcoat and a direct drive buffer, like the Makita 9227c. The buffer can be had for about $200.00, likely about the same a detailer will charge you to take the damage out.
If you decide to go this route, use foam waffle pads, not lamb's wool. The lamb's wool pads heat up more quickly and will burn your paint in a heartbeat. The foam waffles are a bit more forgiving for an amateur. The 3M compound will leave swirl marks, so then you'll have to go through the whole rest of the routine to get back to pre-duck. Be careful, take your time, keep the RPMs down and you can fix it yourself.

Bummer about the mess, duck and most bird poop has a lot of uric acid in it if that helps in trying to figure out how to clean it up, good luck.
