2 second knock on startup?
 

:barf: hi, i,m jon and i,m an alc..... oh sorry wrong forum.....ahem! ok, picked up my new (to me) 1997 box today knowing it had a water leak at the front somewhere, (so possibility it may have been run hot ) this was negotiated in the price, anyways engine sounds fine apart from a slight knock on startup, any ideas? i,m going to change all fluids plus maybe add some valve additive tomorrow (this worked on my 1997 a6 quattro). just like to throw this question out in the mix for any sound advice anyone may have.....many thanx...jon........ps car is mint bar the probs stated (69100 miles on clock, fsh) ciao!

£7000, about $14000 but dont forget boxtser prices seem to hold well in the UK ie £10,000 bottom book price +,........ if everything goes tits up ie engine fuc.......erm ....pooped then i have a mint car to put maybe a 3.6?..........996............i think i,m gonna com......STOP ! hold on ....i know it should go in but how much work is involved in putting a 3.4 or 3.6 in a 1997 box?....(always do your homework)........(flashback from 20+years ago!)................ie......hmmmm i do alot of ie,s lately?also alot of ..........dots?....lol anywayzzzzz. I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!! ........and i bought it for the wife..........with her money........but even so..... THIS CAR aint GOIN' DOWN THE SLIPPERY SLOPE!!!!!! so..... mr nosey!.................why does it knock?
